Akena Laker-Ojok– Outreach Support Staff

Akena Laker-Ojok helps bring community conversations to life through meaningful outreach and engagement across Southern Nevada. Beginning his journey with Sumnu as an intern, Akena quickly grew into his role by supporting public outreach efforts, assisting with events, and helping connect residents, stakeholders, and project teams. Known for the high, positive energy he brings into every room, Akena embodies the Sumnu philosophy of building REALationships®, meeting people where they are and making each interaction engaging, welcoming, and memorable. He plays a key role in supporting transportation and infrastructure initiatives, including projects with the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC). As a daily RTC rider himself, Akena brings a unique and relatable perspective to outreach, helping ensure conversations around mobility and community needs are authentic and impactful..
