  • Fuel Revenue Indexing was Southern Nevada's answer to building streets & highways and improving infrastructure. Small and diverse companies were included on over 200 projects in a 3-year span.

GRASS ROOTS COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Hard to reach neighborhoods, communities of color and low-income zip codes are typically missed by traditional marketing efforts. Grassroots requires meeting people where they are and where they live with sensitivity to the needs, wants, and desires of the people.

  • Washington State passed a bill to legalize marijuana with a provision that youth received education about the drug. A social media campaign was created that set a foundation for reaching youth in communities of color.
  • Southern Nevada Infants & Children in low-income zip codes were not receiving childhood immunizations. A massive outreach effort resulted in those immunization being tripled over a five years period.
  • Metropolitan Planning Organizations need to connect with hard to reach, minority and low-income communities to gather input for service, expansion and growth opportunities. Empathizing with this targeted group requires listening and responding to their needs.
