Sumnu Marketing started as Newsome Marketing Enterprises in April 2006 as a boutique strategic small business marketing firm with a focus on small employers.  In 2007, it evolved by providing public outreach and engagement services to the newly formed Nevada Office of Minority Health & Equity as a division of the Nevada Office of Health and Human Services.  

In 2009 America’s Great Recession devastated most small businesses including Newsome Marketing. The company lost 60% of its annual revenues in less than 90 days causing its leadership to reevaluate the value and delivery of services to clients.  They decided to use this economic downturn to pivot services, proposals and branding to a solutions oriented marketing approach.  Sumnu (Some New) Marketing brand was launched to assist small businesses with acquiring new and retaining current customers as a solution to creating constant cash flow.  The firm adopted a core value of Creating A REALationship of Excellence (C.A.R.E.) with clients, our community and team members.  

Doing something new became a staple of Sumnu Marketing.  In 2015 the Small Business Administration (SBA) Nevada awarded the Nevada Family Owned Business of the Year to Sumnu.  In 2017, the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) recognized Sumnu as a NMSDC National Supplier of the Year.  These awards were the result of Sumnu assisting other small and minority owned firms with recovery from America’s Great Recession while they were rebounding from the economic collapse too.  

Today Sumnu focuses on providing permanent marketing communications solutions for small businesses. However, over the years the company has become the go to firm for “grass roots” marketing and community outreach for corporations and non-profit organizations
