Sumnu worked with United Way of Southern Nevada, 100 Black Men and Southern Nevada Health District to double free immunizations to young children in low income neighborhoods within three years.
Sumnu demonstrated top notch grassroots skills to gather data throughout Southern Nevada for the $3 million planning grant. Over 70,000 people were reached in a variety of ways to provide input to develop a regional plan for Southern Nevada.

Shaundell Newsome, Founder & Visionary
Shaundell Newsome, SBA Small Business Champion of the Year recipient was mentored by a small business owner, Michael Collins with Lou Edna Graphics in Brooklyn, New York as a teenager. He attended the High School of Graphic Communication Arts in Manhattan to learn Creative Writing, Graphic Design and Copy Editing.
Newsome spent a decade in the United States Air Force where he developed leadership, training and communications skills. However, it was his experience with Station Casinos, the world’s largest locals gaming operation that gave him the basic knowledge to help small businesses. He noticed that a casino is comprised of many small businesses with unique marketing opportunities. After helping Stations launch several casinos as a marketing director Newsome did extensive research on small business owners and operations. As a board member for the American Marketing Association Las Vegas, he discovered the Twelve Steps of Marketing.
Over the past decade Shaundell has been committed to educating and developing thousands of small business owners on the basic marketing process. “Marketing tools will change. The marketing process remains the same.” Newsome advises. He is currently a Small Business Development Center Nx Level for Entrepreneurs Instructor, a SCORE volunteer for the Small Business Administration and a national activist for small businesses with Small Business Majority.
Tiara Flynn, President & CEO
Tiara Flynn has worked in the family firm since high school. She served a decade in the United States Air Force, balancing a military career while continuing to accept mentorship from her father, Shaundell Newsome. Today Tiara runs the day to day operations of Sumnu. Her vision is to expand the operations through an online platform called the Sumnu Solutions Zone to reach thousands of small businesses throughout the world.
Flynn started as the company’s first Marketing Coordinator in 2006. She was directly responsible for maintaining the client notebooks, coordinating correspondence and meeting preparation. As a member of the Air Force she quickly climbed the ladder of leadership with early promotion as a Senior Airman Below the Zone recipient and winning an Air Force Leadership Award. Her military experience and drive to support small businesses is a great combination to provide guidance and direction to the Sumnu Team.
Tiara is married to Sean Flynn, a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. She enjoys spending time with her family and outdoor activities.
Arlene Newsome, Chief Financial Officer and Human Resources Director
Arlene has worked with Sumnu Marketing since its inception as the person primarily responsible for the company’s finances and Human Resources.
Newsome owned and operated Charlie’s Learning Center, a day care for young children. She was a major part of the growing Station Casinos brand as a Food and Beverage supervisor for several years. Recently she managed Food Service Operations for a couple of charter schools in Southern Nevada. Her financial management skills helped Sumnu to survive the country’s worse recession and maintain a solid operation budget through the crisis. In addition, Arlene manages the company's robust internship program. Our firm develops youth interns through Nevada Partners, Southern Nevada Housing Authority and the College of Southern Nevada on a quarterly basis.
Arlene is married. She raised eight children. She enjoys relaxing and her grandchildren.
Carla Jenkins, Chief Operating Officer
Carla is one of the original staff members from the beginning of the small business marketing firm. As an administrative assistant she learned the business while directly working with Newsome on a daily basis.
Jenkins decided to attend school and study Business and Management to build on her organizational skills. Her commitment to the company has helped Sumnu to recover from the country’s worse recession. She provides the back office support and financial oversight that allows the team to function efficiently while giving great service to its clients. The attention to detail that Carla possesses really helps our clients to stay on task.
Carla has a young daughter. She loves spending time with her family and volunteering at her daughter’s school.
Frankie Moore, Executive Administrative Assistant
Frankie worked previously with the firm as part time administrative support staff. Her desire to work with small businesses extends from her experience as a member services representative for two chambers of commerce.
As a key employee for the North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Frankie helped to provide customer support to hundreds of small businesses throughout the rapidly growing city. When the North Las Vegas Chamber merged with the larger Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce she was retained as a member support specialist. Her understanding of the small business owner needs brings a benefit to the Sumnu Marketing family.
Frankie is a devoted mother of three children. She loves to bake and spend valuable time with her family.
Daphine Moore, Marketing Coordinator
Daphine recently moved from Houston Texas working at a marketing firm while attending school for Business and Management.
Moore joined Sumnu Marketing as the company started to rebuild its own brand. She quickly adapted to the Marketing Coordinator role. Her responsibilities to manage the client’s portfolios and coordinate their marketing efforts is a major part of the firm’s day to day operations. She brings an extensive knowledge of Social Media to the small business owners.
Daphine loves to read. She aspires to be a business owner someday.
Christine Keyes, Creative Director
Christine is a long time resident of Nevada which allows her to understand the nature of business in the Las Vegas Valley. She has seen the growth; she sees the potential and she understands the need.
Christine’s passion for communication allows her to connect with clients in a one-on-one way. She believes that every relationship is about communicating expectations and Christine ensures that her clients’ needs are consistently met.
A graduate of Bishop Gorman High School, Christine continued her education at University of Nevada Las Vegas and ultimately received her degree in Business Management from University of Phoenix. She believes that a great designer evolves with technology; therefore consistently sharpens her skills with new classes. Christine has served as past president for both the Las Vegas Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) as well as Del Webb Toastmasters. This has given Christine valuable insight into the business of communications as well as the art itself of communicating.
Christine resides in North Las Vegas with her husband Ernest, her daughter Autumn, stepson Dylan, and furry family members, Max, Robin and Meow. In her free time, Christine enjoys boating, photography and scrapbooking.
Christel Marie San Diego, Assistant Marketing Coordinator
Christel was born and raised in the Philippines. She moved to Las Vegas at 18 years of age. She recently graduated with her Associates of Business degree with High Honors from the College of Southern Nevada. While in college, she was heavily involved with student organizations, such as the Associated Students of the College of Southern Nevada Student Government and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
Christel interned with Sumnu Marketing for five months before she started working full-time with the company. She believes that working for Sumnu will be a great experience for her most especially because she aspires to be in the business field.
During her free time, Christel is active in the community. She makes time to do volunteer outside of work. She also currently holds the title of Miss Asian Las Vegas 2016.
